The 2025 March Madness tournament is rapidly closing in, with Selection Sunday on March 16th. The official brackets will be unveiled soon afterward, setting the stage for this year’s tournament. The first round for the men kicks off on Tuesday, March 18th, followed by the women’s tournament starting the next day, March 19th.
When it comes to betting on the tournament, many are putting their money on Auburn. But is that the best move for the average sports bettor? The Tigers have clearly established themselves as favorites, with Johni Broome leading the team to a 27-3 record while averaging 18.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
That said, the Duke Blue Devils aren’t far behind in the March Madness odds. Freshman sensation Cooper Flagg is leading the charge, averaging over 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. Still, several other teams could stand in the way of their championship dreams.
Houston faces a tough road in the Midwest, with potential match-ups against teams like Gonzaga, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and another strong contender, Alabama. In the East, Florida may have to navigate through Kansas, St. John’s, or UCLA to make it to the Final Four.
In the West, Tennessee will likely have to battle through underdogs like Michigan State, Missouri, and Marquette to earn a spot in the Final Four. Meanwhile, Auburn in the South might face tough opponents like Purdue or Clemson in the Sweet Sixteen, and either Iowa State or Kentucky could be standing in their way for a Final Four spot.
March Madness Selection Sunday will begin at 6 p.m. Eastern time, broadcast live on CBS and ESPN. CBS will announce the men’s bracket, while ESPN will reveal the women’s field. Then, the tournament will get underway with the first round match-ups!
