According to Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-12-24, Brady’s about to face the music for his relapse, and it may be heartbreaking.
No good could have ever come of Brady throwing his sobriety away to jump into bed with Xander’s mother. The best thing that could be said about this story is that it’s a less obnoxious redux of the JJ/Eve debacle.
Brady already screwed up by putting drinking over telling Tate about Theresa’s legal woes. The mistake he’s set to make now is far worse, with potentially lifechanging consequences.
Brady and Fiona’s drinking might result in Sarah being hurt or killed.
This horrific consequence of Brady’s bad behavior would be a redux of Eric killing Daniel, but that’s somewhat forgivable because, sadly, drunk driving accidents claim thousands of lives each year.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-12-24 suggest that’s the most likely thing to happen:
These spoilers add up to what could be a moving mental health storyline, but which more likely will be used for cheap drama.
The biggest problem with this story, assuming it’s written anywhere close to realistically, is that it would be a repeat of a story Sarah already had when she was a little girl.
One of Days of Our Lives troublemaker Eve Donovan‘s biggest stories involved the teenager stealing a car, driving drunk, and running an eight-year-old Sarah over when Sarah chased her ball into the street.
It’s not necessarily a bad idea to revisit that, but it’ll be annoying if Days of Our Lives doesn’t bother to reference it.
Getting run over by a drunk driver for the second time should have major consequences for Sarah’s mental health. So far Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-12-24 don’t mention anything about this, but this story is just beginning, so let’s hope the historical ties are coming!
Ugh. Whenever Hattie shows up, things get out of hand quickly.
It’s fine that she’s involved in Days of Our Lives’ fourth wall-breaking storyline about Body & Soul, but can’t we confine the over-the-top nonsense to that plot?
Instead, Leo concludes that Marlena has a split personality. This means that right after killing off someone who actually had DID, Days of Our Lives will have a “funny” story about thinking that a renowned psychiatrist secretly has it.
Between that and the cavalier dialogue about not using ableist terms to refer to people with mental health issues, it seems like the writers are going out of their way to make fun of mental health conditions. Not cool!
Kate and Roman scenes are always fun. After all these years, these two still have strong chemistry.
Still, this Body & Soul storyline has gotten beyond ridiculous.
It was cute at first, but the joke’s played out, and the characters involved deserve a meaty storyline instead of this nonsense.
At least this (probably) won’t lead to Kate and Roman splitting up for the sake of drama. Roman isn’t on often, either, so any spoilers involving him are good news.
However, spoilers for Days of Our Lives during the week of 8-12-24 suggest that this storyline isn’t anywhere near over. Let’s hope they don’t drag it out past the point the audience is willing to tolerate it!
Damn it, Brady! Why does he always succumb to alcohol, horrible women, or both?
It wasn’t that long ago that he was falsely accused of killing Philip (who wasn’t even dead, to begin with!) because he was found passed out near the river with alcohol in his system and evidence that he’d hurt Philip in a drunken rage.
That was the kind of storyline that can only happen in Salem, and now it’s happening again. This time, he’s guilty, if Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-12-24 are to be believed.
Addiction causes relapses sometimes. I get it. But this unrealistic one is made worse by the focus on Brady going to jail or possibly having hurt someone.
Chad’s desperation to find out the Mystery Woman’s identity can’t lead anywhere good. He might try to seduce her to try to trigger memories.
That would be terrible, on par with Stefan’s rape of Abigail when she was dissociating, so let’s hope they don’t go there.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-12-24 also say that DNA results will come in.
On any other show, that would be a significant step in the right direction, but Days of Our Lives almost always pulls out the tired TV trope of someone messing with the results, so this time isn’t likely to be any different.
Tate’s back to sneaking around and hiding in the cabin since Brady thinks he’s gone back to camp.
Of course, Brady won’t be hard to avoid, considering he’s drunk most of the time.
Sophia is a worse problem. She’s driven by revenge, and bothering Holly about why Holly and Tate haven’t had sex yet hasn’t worked so far.
She knows where Holly and Tate are, so what are the chances she lets something slip to the wrong person?
The spoilers don’t make it clear exactly what’s going on, but it’s not hard to figure out.
Brady, fresh off of having neglected Tate, will likely further cement his status as the worst father in Salem by being too busy with his drunken drama to pick up Rachel at the appointed time.
That’s the most logical explanation for Kristen showing up at Marlena’s with Rachel.
Kristen is hardly the type of villain we love even though we wouldn’t hang out with her, but at least she’s responsible enough to make sure someone’s watching Rachel if she has to leave.
It’s about time that Jennifer comes to Salem! Jack’s leaving her in Boston when he randomly showed up in the fictional Chicago suburb never made sense, especially after he learned Abigail might be alive.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-12-24 don’t say which actress will be playing Jennifer.
While Melissa Reeves will be returning in November, it’s likely Cady McClain this time, as the announcement about Reeves specified she would be back in the fall.
Fraud is the least of Connie’s problems. She’s going around killing people so that they won’t find out that she killed Li in a jealous rage.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, now she’s living in his house and imagining a cardboard cutout of him is her boyfriend.
She’s the type of villain that gives us nightmares despite the goofiness of her character.
Melinda telling Ava that Connie isn’t what she claims to be is a step toward ending Connie’s reign of terror, so let’s go!
