I had to try these pencils against the best. I was skeptical. They came packed well enough to withstand a bomb. Hard box, and inside it, a beautiful sturdy tin was wrapped in about 4 layers of bubble wrap. Then the tin was sealed tight with another layer and taped shut. Like a little jewel. I had to compare them right away. I picked a color and used the Amazon soft core Red pencil. Next the Prismacolor, Arteza, Castle Arts, and Nyloi. I was quite amazed at how well it stood up against such name brands. Almost the same. Good color, and a nice smooth softcore. The point held well. Very vivid color. These are really good! I’m very happy, and I am picky.
Being a longtime user of colored pencils, I was a bit skeptical about buying Amazon Basics. I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised to find that these pencils were of a quality similar to Prismacolors! Nice soft, thick leads with a beautiful pigment saturation!
First, they came wrapped so very well, better than some expensive pencils I have gotten. Well, when I started to try them out it was so smooth. They go down so well and smooth and blend so very well. I wish I would have gotten these a long time ago before I spent so much on other more expensive pencils. Bravo bravo Amazon Basics!
