While a few Summer Fridays still remain and thoughts of pumpkin spice, candy corn and Halloween decorations may be completely out of mind, Bath & Body Works has jumped right ahead to the Most Wonderful Time of the Year and began rolling out some of its winter candles.
Bath & Body Works introduced collaborations with Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and Crocs this summer, but as of August, some of its popular holiday scents will start appearing in stores and on the company’s website. Evergreen, Fresh Balsam, Frosted Cranberry, Vanilla Bean Noel and Winter Candy Apple typically land among Bath & Body Works shoppers’ favorite Christmas scents, but by the time Black Friday rolls around, those in-demand selections are often sparse, if not completely sold out.
So while you might be squeezing in every beach day you can and holding off on pulling out scarves, gloves and jackets, if you want some of Bath & Body Works’ holiday bestsellers, you’ll want to consider doing your shopping for them before you do any trick-or-treating — and certainly ahead of Santa Claus crossing 34th Street at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Bath & Body Works first introduced its Halloween offerings in mid-July, and fall was in full swing at the gingham retailer by the end of the month. So it makes sense that, come August, Bath & Body Works felt ready to kick off the holiday season and start introducing some of its winter candles. On Aug. 26, more of the winter candles should hit shelves and online and by Halloween, Bath & Body Works’ entire Christmas offerings are typically available.
The saying “the early bird gets the worm” rings true when it comes to purchasing Bath & Body Works candles. Bath & Body Works devotees will snatch up their favorite candles as soon as they see them in stores and online. Since store employees don’t know when a product will be restocked or if the company will send more inventory at all, you shouldn’t wait to buy a candle you love, even if it doesn’t feel seasonally appropriate.
And for any shoppers who’d rather wait until they have a coupon, or until the store puts candles on sale, Bath & Body Works’ generous return policy that promises 100% satisfaction will allow you to return the candle and rebuy it at the discounted price down the line to receive the optimal price — just hold onto your receipt!
Bath & Body Works hosts a variety sales on its candles throughout the year. Here are a few that may take place over the next few months during which winter candles will be available:
Bath & Body Works typically runs a Summer Sale around Labor Day that discounts many items up to 50% off. Last year, the sale ran from Aug. 28 to Sept. 7 and featured $5.95 single-wick candles and $13.95 3-wick candles.
The Sale of the Scentury, featuring 3-wick candles for $12.95, took place on Sept. 10 and 11 in 2023.
Three-wick candles went on sale again for $13.95 from Sept. 22 to Oct. 1 in 2023.
Bath & Body Works celebrated the first day of fall in 2023 with 40% off of everything. This year, the fall equinox lands on Sept. 22.
October’s one-day Friends & Family event offers an extra 25% off, and in 2023, it also included BOGO on all candles.
Bath & Body Works’ Black Friday sale usually features the entire store BOGO and on Cyber Monday, the store offers 40% off storewide.
The store’s famous Candle Day sale typically launches the weekend after Black Friday and sees 3-wick candles go on their lowest price of the year. In 2023, 3-wicks sold for $9.95 on Candle Day.
Signing up for Bath & Body Works’ rewards program is the best way to get extra savings on candles on top of the store’s ongoing sales. The free program is available online and in the My Bath & Body Works app. Rewards members will earn points towards free items, which can include candles, as well as coupons throughout the year that can be combined with in-store and online sales. To receive coupons in the mail and via email, shoppers can sign up for the mailing list by calling the company’s customer service number or in stores by sharing their phone number and email address with an associate.
Though Bath & Body Works hasn’t officially announced its Holiday 2024 slate just yet, longtime favorites like Twister Peppermint, Winter Candy Apple and Vanilla Bean Noel are expected to return, as are more recent additions such as Bright Christmas Morning, Strawberry Snowflakes and Snowflakes & Cashmere.
Bath & Body Works fans also hope to see Evergreen, Fresh Balsam, Fresh Sparkling Snow, Frosted Cranberry and Wrapped in Vanilla back on shelves. Earlier this year, Bath & Body Works asked rewards members to vote on the name of two new holiday fragrances. The options included Countdown to Midnight and Cue the Confetti, Make It Shimmer and Midnight Disco, and Time To Sparkle and New Year Nightcap, so shoppers can expect to see one of those duos on sale this holiday season as well.
