The Olympics are a spectacle, from the dazzling opening ceremony filled with pomp and circumstance to the individual competitions showcasing the world’s most elite athletes competing for their countries. Watching the games is a thrill we all look forward to.
The Paris Olympic Summer Games are set to kick off on Friday, July 26, running through Sunday, August 11, 2024. If you are like most of us and unable to attend live in Paris – you now have more exciting options than ever. What if you could catch your favorite events on the big screen at AMC Theatres? For the first time, AMC Theaters has exclusively teamed up with NBC to let you do just that, the event is called NBC Watch Parties.
For the first time, AMC Theatres is offering customers the chance to watch the Olympic opening ceremony in IMAX…live. Obviously, the time change between France and the U.S. makes the opening ceremony a morning or daytime event. For example, in Los Angeles the live IMAX opening begins at 10:30 a.m, while in New York it begins at 1:30 p.m. Also note that the opening ceremony presentation will be 3 hours and 30 minutes long.
So why not gather your friends and family and watch the Olympic Opening ceremony on July 26, in IMAX? Tickets are available online with a choice to purchase and reserve a specific seat. Private theatre rentals are available for this event, reach out to your local AMC to discuss rates and availability.
Adult, Child and Senior tickets cost $20.24 for the IMAX event. There is also an additional $2.69 convenience fee per ticket. You can avoid the convenience fee if you are an AMC Stubs A-List or AMC Premiere member. AMC Insiders can avoid the convenience fee when purchasing 4+ tickets.
Note: Ticket prices quoted above are based on California theatre prices
AMC is exclusively screening 16 top U.S. Olympic events live, one event per day for the duration of the Olympics. You can purchase tickets for each event online separately.
The Summer Games are not being shown in IMAX (only the Opening Ceremony). The NBC Watch Parties games can be seen in Laser and/or Dine-In theatres.
Double check with your local AMC for availability in your area.
Laser ticket prices are $11.99 for Adults, $9.69 for Child and $10.89 for Seniors (60+). There is a $2.19 convenience fee per ticket for online purchases. You can avoid the convenience fee if you are an AMC Stubs A-List or AMC Premiere member. AMC Insiders can avoid the convenience fee when purchasing 4+ tickets.
