Toys You Should Be Buying at Costco This Holiday Season

Looking to get a head start on the kids’ wish lists this year? May we suggest heading to your local Costco warehouse, where you can score some of the best selling toys at up to 30% off what you might pay at other retailers for the exact same item.

The popular big-box chain has so much more than just rotisserie chicken and larger than life flat screen televisions. The toy section, usually located near the middle of the store, changes frequently throughout the year and then multiplies as seasonal items start filling the aisles.

Costco doesn’t disappoint when it comes to variety, with toys ranging from play kitchens to plush toys to rare LEGO sets. And if you’re in store, don’t skip the book tables either. With the busy holiday season rolling in, now is the ideal time to explore all the club has to offer and squeeze even more savings and convenience out of your membership when you need it most. In need of a membership? Not to worry, we can help you save on one of those as well.

There are so many gifts to choose from that will delight kids of all ages. We can’t even come close to listing them all, but we are going to round up some of the hottest toys to hit the shelves at Costco so far this season. And while we’re at it, let’s compare prices just to be sure you’re getting the absolute best deal.

Squishmallows 16” Plush Frosted Toaster Pastry

Give the gift of Squish this year with a 16-inch huggable pop tart with embroidered sprinkles. These plush toys are ultra-soft, cozy and squeezable. Costco also has six other Squishmallow friends available at this size and price.

Stanley Jr. Kids Workbench Tool Set and Wooden Kits

A miniature workbench is perfect for any budding builder. This one comes complete with tools and two building kits with pre-cut pieces to get them started. The exact same workbench can be purchased from multiple other retailers but doesn’t include the tools or project kits and at 30% less seems like a win all around when purchased at Costco.

Monster Jam Superhero 1:24 Scale RC 2-pack

Put your favorite Marvel heroes to the test in these remote control Monster Jam trucks. With easy to use joystick controllers and batteries included, Spider-Man and Iron Man are ready to race right out of the box.

Vtech Kidi Star Drum Pad

A drum set has got to be every parent’s worst nightmare, but not this one. Vtech has created a quieter drum pad version that has 30 songs to play along with or wireless technology to connect your own music. You can connect headphones too, which are not included but batteries and drum sticks are.

STMT D.I.Y Rainbow Jewelry Studio

This mini studio comes with 1,500 plus jewelry making supplies to create over 75 unique pieces to wear or share with friends. This specific kit is exclusive to Costco but for comparison sake, a much smaller set with only 500 beads and bobbles costs 20% more over on Amazon.

Bluey My Size Shopping Set

Because shopping is always more fun with friends, Invite your favorite Bluey characters along on your next grocery shopping adventure. This set comes complete with a shopping cart, cash register, Bluey figures and 22 other accessories.

LEGO for Less at Costco

Costco is a great place to save on some of the most popular LEGO building sets. The retailer currently has several sets available in store and online. When purchasing online, most sets are sold in a bundle of 2 or more which really ramps up the savings. But if you shop in store, you’ll be able to purchase the sets individually. Let’s demonstrate a few different scenarios.

LEGO Talking Sorting Hat

Once built, this interactive hat comes to life with a moving mouth and 31 different sounds. The Sorting Hat includes 561 pieces and would make a magical gift for any Harry Potter fan. It is available individually both online and in-store for less than other popular LEGO retailers.

LEGO Chrysanthemum, Plum Blossom and Cherry Blossoms Bundle

These stunning floral building sets are part of the LEGO Botanical Collection. Colorful buds and blooms in flower pots will make the perfect gift while also doubling as maintenance free floral decor. The Chrysanthemum and Plum Blossom sets are a bundle deal online but can be purchased separately in the Warehouse.

Costco individual set price in store: $21.99

Competing retailer individual set: $29.95 at Amazon

LEGO Poinsettia and Christmas Tree Bundle

Lego seasonal sets have arrived and are sure to sell out quickly considering how the Christmas tree went viral last year. New this year is a gorgeous and easy to build poinsettia which would be a fun family activity to build together and display for the holiday season. These two holiday sets are sold as a bundle online but I only spotted the Poinsettia set available in store.

Costco Poinsettia set only in store: $37.99

Competing retailer individual set: $49.99 at Amazon

Costco Membership Deals

There are a ton of reasons to become a Costco member aside from getting deals on some of the hottest toys of the season. A membership could add up to significant savings on food, medications, gift cards and gasoline
