Miraibo GO Officially Launches Today

All of these conclusions are accurate, but they don’t come close to appreciating everything that Miraibo GO has to offer. You don’t get 1 million pre-registrations to being a title that’s an almost essential download after all.

Far from being a tribute act, Miraibo GO is a quietly radical evolution of the open-world monster-catching genre, with innovations in gameplay, guilds, and more. More importantly, it looks like a lot of fun.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. For the uninitiated, here’s the lowdown on one of the most promising games of the year.

Developed by Dreamcube, Miraibo GO is an open world survival game set in a huge, geographically diverse universe consisting of breezy grasslands, icy mountains, floating rocks, barren deserts, glistening shorelines, and more.

A large part of the gameplay sees you exploring this landscape, hunting for monsters called Miras to attack, catch, and ultimately befriend.

Weakening your target involves going at it with sticks, arrows, bullets, and various other hurty things. Once your quarry is weak enough you can try to capture it by throwing a special ball, thus expanding your menagerie.

There are more than 100 different Miras in Miraibo GO at launch, and they take a huge number of forms. There are gigantic armored reptiles, huge birds whose backs you can fly on, things that swim, and a vast array of other creatures large and small.

Each and every Mira has its own personality, as well as its own unique profile of strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. There are elemental affinities to take into account, too, so Miraibo GO goes in hard in terms of tactical depth.

But the game’s real secret ingredient is variety. For a start, there are three different types of worlds to join: free, VIP, and Guild. They run the game from solo adventuring to cooperative play involving up to 24 players, and you can hold a separate save in each.

Then there’s the gameplay. Miraibo GO’s world is big enough and densely populated enough with Miras to keep you busy for hours, but there’s a whole other side to the game.

When you’re not hunting and fighting you’re back at your base, assigning various domestic tasks to your Miras. These tasks include farming, resource gathering, building, and more.

And you’ve got your own list of tasks to perform, such as feeding, resting, and entertaining your monsters to keep them happy, productive, and ready for battle.

Miraibo GO is also taking a unique approach to guilds during launch. The Super Guild Assembly event sees various well-known content creators like NeddyTheNoodle starting their own guilds and competing, along with the members, to have the biggest one. Make sure you join the game’s Discord server to find and team up with a range of players across the globe too.

This makes a welcome change from starting a guild yourself or joining a random one for the perks—though you can do those too.

To celebrate the launch of Miraibo GO and the Super Guild Assembly event, Dreamcube is giving away a gift to players who enter the code MR1010. That gift joins the pre-registration rewards that have already been unlocked, including mira catching tools, a 3-day VIP gift pack, and tons more.

Miraibo GO is playable on both mobile and PC in crossplay, and you can download it for free right now on the App Store, Google Play, and the official Miraibo GO site.
