Madonna’s Son David Banda Addresses Reports He’s Homeless and Starving After Moving Out of Mom’s Home

Madonna‘s son, David Banda, is not scavenging on the streets.

Banda is clearing the air after multiple reports over the weekend claimed that he was “scavenging” for food since moving out of his mother’s New York apartment. The 18-year-old took to his Instagram Story on Sunday to put the rumors to rest.

“TO ALL OF THOSE CONCERNED,” Banda began. “My mother is very supportive of me. She has always been supportive of me. I am very happy in my life and I am not living out on the streets, starving!”

He concluded, “Please stop worrying everything is good.”

The rumors and concern came after Banda addressed his living situation on his Instagram Live on Saturday.

“It’s lovely to experience it being nine o’clock at night, me being hungry and realizing that I don’t have enough money to get food and scavenging. It’s fun to be young,” he said at the time.

“I love it. I’m not on my own, I’ve got my girlfriend,” he continued of his girlfriend, model Maria Atuesta.

When he’s not shutting down rumors, Banda is focusing on music. He teaches virtual one-hour guitar lessons with bookings available via Instagram for $200 a session.

Banda is one of Madonna’s six children. She has two biological children — daughter Lourdes, 27, with ex Carlos Leon and son Rocco, 23, with ex-husband Guy Ritchie — and four adopted children. The pop legend adopted Banda while on a humanitarian trip to Malawi with Guy in 2006. She later returned to the African nation where she has set up a charitable organization to adopt daughter Mercy, 18, and twins Stella and Estere, 11.

In September, Madonna paid tribute to Banda for his birthday on Instagram.

“Happy 18th Birthday David Banda! Tribal Name -Senzangakona- Descendant of the Ngoni And Zulu Tribes!” Madonna captioned her post. “It is impossible to believe that almost 18 years have gone by since We met you in Mchinji at Home of Hope Orphanage! Your name means ‘Speak the truth’! I couldn’t think of a better name for an artist! You are growing into a truly remarkable human being! We are all so proud of you! You light up like the brightest star! ⭐⭐⭐.”
