Garrison, a leading attorney search firm based in Washington, DC, brings on legal recruiter Amy Savage as partner. Savage will focus on placing high level government attorneys into law firms, as well as lateral partners. She will be working most closely with legal recruiters Dan Binstock and Erin Sears.
WASHINGTON, Oct. 17, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Garrison, a leading attorney search firm in DC for several decades, announced today that legal recruiting veteran Amy Savage has joined its Washington, DC headquarters as Partner. An accomplished recruiter with more than two decades of experience in the DC legal market, her addition will further bolster Garrison’s strength in placing elite partners and government officials with top firms.
Amy is widely regarded as one of the most skilled and knowledgeable legal recruiters in the region. She brings deep experience with high-profile partners (including those with government-facing practices) and high-level government attorneys transitioning to private practice. She has also helped many leading firms enhance their DC presence and build out both emerging and well-established practices.
“We are very excited to welcome Amy to our team,” said Garrison co-owner Dan Binstock, who heads the Partner and Practice Group Division. “I have known Amy for many years as a friendly competitor and have always been impressed by her depth of experience and highly ethical approach to recruiting at the top of the market.” Garrison co-owners Matt Schwartz and Nancy Palermo added, “Amy’s outstanding track record is a reflection of her approach, which closely aligns with how we do things at Garrison.”
Prior to joining Garrison, Amy served as the National Chair of the Government Regulatory and Enforcement Group at an international attorney search firm. She graduated with honors from Georgetown University Law Center in 2000, and later moved from practicing law to legal recruiting, bringing experience and insight gleaned from her years at boutique and large law firms to her work with candidates and clients.
A recognized expert on legal career issues, Amy has advised on the DC legal market to numerous top law schools including Yale Law, Harvard Law, University of Virginia, Columbia University, and Georgetown Law on best approaches and practices in the DC legal market. Amy has also presented at key professional associations such as the National Association of Legal Placement (NALP) and is often relied upon for her thought leadership by the legal press (including The American Lawyer, Bloomberg Law, Law360, and Above the Law). She has also served as an expert witness in federal court on matters related to attorney compensation.
“I have long admired Garrison’s reputation and bespoke approach to lateral recruiting. In a market where the war for lateral partner talent can define which firms rise and fall, Garrison’s highly tailored approach is more powerful than ever,” said Savage. “I am excited to join a team that is so well positioned to effectively help attorneys and firms alike in this competitive hiring market.”
