Emily put this to the test against her Bissell Little Green. Here’s what she had to say…

I didn’t think I could love a little cleaning appliance more than my Bissell Little Green, but I gave this Shark portable cleaner a try and it’s really got me thinking twice! Both perform SO well and I truly believe they’re a must for every household, but here are the main differences:

  • Shark’s suction is stronger than the Bissell
  • Shark’s bristles are firmer than the Bissell, but I didn’t love that since they were too harsh on my couch fabric. That said, you can flip the brush head to a softer silicone brush side which I loved!
  • Shark’s main brush head is actually a crevice tool which was so handy.
  • The size of the Shark cleaner is a little smaller than the Bissell.
  • Shark’s package comes with more brush head options, including the Pet tool, which is normally around $40 to buy the similar Bissell Stain Trapper tool separately from the main Little Green appliance package.
  • The cord of the Shark cleaner is shorter than the Bissell (I had to get an extension cord when cleaning my car).
  • Shark’s formula comes in two separate bottles and is a little more expensive than Bissell’s.

Overall, the two appliances are pretty similar, though Shark is a bit more powerful, smaller, and has more attachments. The cost of the cleaning solution and needing to use two of them is a bit of a turnoff though. This is such a handy cleaning appliance and I highly recommend it!
