2025 Super Bowl Betting to hit $1.4 Billion • This Week in Gambling

Our friends at the American Gaming Association (AGA) have released their new Super Bowl betting estimates for Americans. With so many states now regulating sports bets, expectations are at an all time high, with an anticipated $1.39 billion legal wagers on the 2025 game. And this is while the industry is experiencing continued expansion and enthusiasm.

Support for legal sports betting in the United States is still growing. The AGA’s 2024 American Attitudes Survey shows that 75% of Americans back legal sports betting in their state, and 90% see it as acceptable entertainment. Since the Supreme Court overturned PASPA in 2018, 38 states and D.C. have introduced legal sports betting, with Missouri preparing to launch soon as well. This means that Americans now have many regulated options when it comes to Super Bowl betting.

“No event brings sports fans together like the Super Bowl, and that enthusiasm carries over to sports betting, with this year’s record handle showing its broad appeal,” said Bill Miller, AGA President and CEO. “This figure highlights the benefits of the legal market, from consumer protection to tax revenue that supports local communities, while improving the game experience.”

As this years Big Game marks another step in the growth of the legal sports betting market, the AGA is focused on supporting a legal market that encourages responsible gaming, protects consumers, and drives economic growth. The AGA is again partnering with former New Orleans Saints player, college football analyst, and responsible gaming advocate Mark Ingram II for the Super Bowl. He will appear on Radio Row as part of AGA’s “Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.” campaign, urging bettors to bet legally and responsibly on Super Bowl LIX.
